This page says in everyday language what happens to what you tell MyHoma. The Privacy Policy is the full legal text; if the two ever differ, the Privacy Policy decides, and we will fix this page.
What we keep, and only after you agree
Before you create an account and agree to it, nothing you say on MyHoma is saved. The short preview conversation lives only in our server's memory and is gone ten minutes after it ends, unless you create an account and keep it.
- Your account: your email address, the sign-in you chose (Google, Apple or a password), that you told us you are 18 or older, and your US state.
- Your profile picture, if you add one in your profile.
- Your choices: every consent you give or take back, with the words you were shown and when.
- Your conversations, once you have an account: what you and the AI said, the audio recording, short notes the AI writes after a conversation, and what they remember for next time. Delete single memories in Memory (Homa stops using them at once); conversations, recordings and notes are deleted, with everything else, when you delete your account.
- What you add yourself: mood check-ins, journal entries and answers to the first questions.
- Your plan: which plan you have, when it renews, how many face sessions you have used this week, and how long you have talked by voice today. Card details stay with Stripe; we never see your card number.
- How well calls work: every few seconds of a conversation, your phone or browser tells us how quick and steady the connection is, what kind of network it is on (Wi-Fi or cellular), the model of the device and its system version, and how long the AI you talk with took to start answering. These are numbers only, under a random code for that one call: not your name or account, and never your words or your voice.
The AI companies behind Homa
Homa is made with the AI of other companies. Nothing goes to any of them until you say yes: on the first screen, or before your first conversation. Without that yes there are no conversations with Homa, and you can take it back at any time in Settings, under "Homa's AI companies".
- Anthropic (Claude) writes Homa's answers and checks what you say for safety. In every conversation, by voice or by chat, what you say, as words, goes to Anthropic, with what Homa remembers about you that bears on it, to be answered. While your camera is on, stills from it can go to Anthropic too.
- Google (Gemini) hears you and speaks as Homa. In a call, your voice goes to Google to be turned into words, and the words of her replies go to it to be spoken. While your camera is on, stills from it can go to Google too. On the website, Google also writes down what you say.
What stays on our own servers
Her face, the video of her talking, is made on computers we operate ourselves. Your account, your saved conversations, your notes and what Homa remembers are kept on our own servers.
What helps Homa find what you talked about before is made on our own servers too: your saved conversations and notes are turned into search data by our own system, not sent to another company for it.
Your face and your camera
While your camera is on, a still picture from it goes to our server every few seconds so the AI can see you. It stops when you turn the camera off, and the pictures are not saved or used for any medical judgment.
Expression sensing is off unless you switch it on. When it is on, the AI also responds to your expressions; on the website your expression is read on your own device and only a one-word label, such as "smiling", is sent, and it is not stored. You can turn your camera off at any time and the AI you talk with still hears you.
When someone may be in danger
Every sentence you say is checked, as you say it, for signs that you or someone else may be in danger. If it looks like it, the AI points you to 988 and emergency services, and our staff are told so that a person can review it. This safety record is kept even before you have an account, because it exists to protect you; if you delete your account, your name and your words are removed from it.
No ads, no tracking, never sold
MyHoma has no advertising, no tracking tools and no data brokers. We count a few steps in the app, such as opening the welcome screen or starting a conversation, to see where people get stuck; those counts are not tied to your name or your account. We do not sell what you tell us, and we do not share it for advertising.
Your rights
- Take your data with you: Settings, then "Download my data", gives you everything on your account as one file.
- Change your mind: switch expression sensing, or Homa's AI companies, off at any time in Settings.
- Report a response: if something the AI said was wrong, hurtful or unsafe, tap "Report a response" in the conversation and our staff will look at it.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account yourself, at any time, in the app or on the web: open Settings (on the web, myhoma.com/app/settings; the steps are also at myhoma.com/delete-account), choose "Delete my account" and type the confirmation. It happens at once and cannot be undone.
It erases your account, your conversations and recordings, your notes, what the AI remembers, your choices and your plan's history. Two things stay, without your name or your words: the count of safety events, which the law asks us to report, and the record that you agreed to a subscription's price and terms, which the auto-renewal laws ask us to keep.
Deleting your account cancels a plan bought on the web at once, so you are not charged again. A plan bought in the App Store or Google Play is billed by Apple or Google, and only they can cancel it: cancel it there first (in the app, Settings shows a "Manage subscription" button next to the delete).
Companies that help us run MyHoma
Each of these works for us under contract and only for the job below, and is bound by that contract to protect your data with the same or equal protection as this policy and to use it only to provide the service.
- Anthropic (Claude): With your OK: writes Homa's answers, from what you say and what she remembers about you, checks what you say for safety, and sees stills from your camera while it is on.
- Google (Gemini): With your OK: Homa's ear and voice in a call (your voice and the words of her replies), sees stills from your camera while it is on, and, on the website, writes down what you say.
- Google (sign-in and email): "Sign in with Google" if you choose it, and delivering the emails we send you.
- Apple: "Sign in with Apple" if you choose it, and payment for a plan bought in the App Store.
- Stripe: Takes payment for a plan bought on the web. Stripe holds your card details; we never see them.
- Twilio: Sends the one-time code that confirms a phone number you give us.
- Google Play: Payment for a plan bought in the Google Play app.
- Cloudflare: Network and domain name services in front of some of our addresses: it handles your IP address and the requests that pass through it.
- Google Fonts: Our website's fonts: it receives your IP address and browser details when a page loads.
